Chris "Big Irv" Stevenson, age 47 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 in Ruston, Louisiana.

Christopher Michael Stevenson better known as "Big Irv" was a son, brother, father, grandfather and a friend.  He had a big heart, big love, a big smile and a contagious laugh that could brighten anyone's day.  Everything about him was big in the most wonderful way.  He never met a stranger, and if you thought yourself one, standby, cause it was only for a minute.  You see, God blessed him with love and happiness that few ever know.  He wasn't fancy.  He never looked down on anyone.  He would have given all he had to anyone if he knew it was needed, and didn't expect anything in return.  He probably had more true friends than most, and that's because he was a true friend.  If you called him, he was coming, no matter the time or need, he would be there.  The song "Old Dogs and Children and Watermelon Wine", that was Irvin.  He loved dogs and children and could entertain them with a flair that no one could understand.  He loved to joke and play, especially with those he loved.  He was always up for a good game of pool, running dogs and definitely driving us all crazy!  He loved hard and was loved hard in return by his family and friends.  When he was still in school he took up riding horses.  He learned how to rope with help of some of the people that became his closest friends.  He worked on the road pipelining as a younger man and made tons of friends along the way.  He loved his children and was always telling stories about them, but let me tell you, when Cooper was born it was like the rapture for him.  Nothing earthly gave him more pleasure than spending time with that baby boy.  He always said, "Now I know what Grandma meant when she said, 'If I had known how much fun grand babies were, I'd have had them first.' "

Life wasn't always kind to him, but his book of life earned him a pair of gold wings when he met The Good Lord.  He didn't dwell on hard times, but always remembered the good times.  Let us all do the same and rejoice in a life that gave and received great love; the life of Christoper Michael Stevenson.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Marie Meyers; his father John Michael Stevenson; his brother, Mark Andrew "Andy" Stevenson; his maternal grand parents, Marvin and Faris Wyatt and Dr. Clyde Meyers; and his paternal grand parents, Harry and Gladys Stevenson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Austin Stevenson, Lisa Stevenson (John Luke), and Makenzie Stevenson; his only grandchild, Cooper Paul Thomas; two brothers Joseph Stevenson and Lance Stevenson; one nephew, Eli Stevenson; one niece, Makayla Stevenson; and a host of friends.
