Charles Lynn Neal, age 74 of Wheeling, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Born Sunday, March 21, 1948 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle Stroud Neal and John Ervin Neal; son, Stanley Neal; brother, John Drexell Neal; sister, Lucy Barnes; and beloved pet, Nala.

Mr. Neal served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was an all around sportsman who enjoyed hunting, farming, and wood work. Mr. Neal was also an avid reader.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margarette Neal; son, Charles Neal (Britton); daughter-in-law, Denise Neal; grandchildren, Garret Neal (Shaylee), Brooke Neal, Ethan Neal, Wyatt Neal, Cooper Neal, Jenna Neal, Audrey Neal, and Richard Neal; great grand child, Levi Neal; sister, Peggy Deen(Marlin); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Mars Hill Baptist Church, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM , and again on Saturday , at the church, from noon until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck LaCroix officiating. Interment will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Garret Neal, Shelby Cotten, Anthony Carter, Dalton Carter, Keith Carter, John Deen, Brent Deen, and Kenneth Barnes. Mike Flannigan will serve the family as an honorary pallbearer.
