Chad L. Taylor, of Winnfield, LA passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the age of 53. He was a charismatic man, beloved son, brother, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, trusted friend, and generous neighbor. He was born to Janis Taylor and the late Robert Taylor on December 11, 1970. He was married January 15, 2022 to Margaret Smith Taylor.

Chad, fondly nicknamed "Coondog," graduated from Winnfield Senior High School in 1990. He worked in the lumber industry for over 30 years. Since a young age, Chad's passion for hunting was encouraged by his grandfather who laid the framework for his woodsman skills. He found peace in the woods, where he pursued his love for the hunt. Chad's adventures in the wilderness were not just about the chase but about the camaraderie and memories made with family and friends along the way.

In addition to his love for the outdoors, Chad also had a green thumb and found solace in gardening. He took pride in tending to his garden, cultivating vibrant flowers and delicious vegetables that brought beauty and sustenance to his home and pantry. Chad's legacy as a devoted outdoorsman and skilled gardener will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Chad treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was gathered around the dinner table, celebrating holidays, doting on his granddaughter, or sharing stories that filled the room with infectious laughter. Because of his outgoing nature, Chad never met a stranger. Whether he was cracking jokes or offering honest advice, his genuine warmth and welcoming demeanor made everyone feel like an old friend.

His lively spirit and generous nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Yet, even in his absence, Chad's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His impact on the lives of others will be remembered fondly, serving as a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Margaret, and his children which include Samantha, Alyssa (Scott Lenard) and Bradley Taylor. His granddaughter Saylor Lenard, step-daughter Jennifer Link,  step-son Brandon Link (Destinie) and their daughter Remi, his mother Janis Taylor and her children, his siblings, Mindy Misuraca (Chad),  Lisa Webb (Bryan), Brian Taylor (Hannah), and Brittney Taylor. Chad was preceded in death by his father, Robert Taylor and his paternal grandparents, Bevley and Margaret Taylor.

The family will receive friends at Southern Funeral Home on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11AM until the time of the services at 2PM with Bryan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Winnfield, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Chris Bedgood, Jeffrey Cannon, Eddie Wayne Cannon, Ken Carter, David Lee Huckaby, Kevin Pharr, Joe Treadway, and Rusty Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Taylor, Brian Taylor, Chad Misuraca, Bryan Webb, Shane Caldwell, Chris Carter, Kelly Carter, Shawn Phillips, Keith Phillips, and Dustin David and the members of the Port de Luc Hunting Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Winn Parish 4H Foundation/Chase McManus ATV Fund. Checks can be made to Winn Parish 4H and mailed to 119 West Main Suite 4, Winnfield, LA. 71483.
