Carolyn Jean Griffin, age 73, of Winnfield, LA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in Alexandria, LA. She was born on June 2, 1950, in Flomaton, AL, to the late Narvie Lee White and Agnes M. Bell White.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Leslie L. Griffin, infant daughter Sharon Rena Smith, father Narvie Lee White; mother Agnes M. Bell White; brother, Buddy White; sister Earline White Howell; granddaughter Taylor Lawren Dierks; and nephew Rodney Eugene Howell.

She is survived by her daughter Angie Lynn Smith of Flomaton, AL.; grandsons, Alan Michael Zimmerman of Winnfield, and Shawn Scroggins of Arkansas; granddaughter Shannon Naylor of Maryland; great-grandchildren Kensley, Marlee Grace, Aaron, Luke, Leslie, Tanner, and Trevor; Carolyn is also survived by her sisters Louise White Harwell of Century, FL. and Dorothy Reed of Gulfport, MS.; one brother, Donald Graves (Dellene) of Gulfport MS.;  sister-in-law Vernia White of Flomaton; numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved pet, Chica.

Carolyn had a huge nurturing heart and lived to take care of others. She loved cooking, especially for her church family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved her grandchildren more than anything. She also enjoyed fishing, shopping, and gardening. She truly lived life to the fullest.

Visitation and wake services will be held at Calvin Baptist Church on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will take place at Calvin Baptist Church on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Billy Ver Hoef officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery.
