Mrs. Bonnie Elaine Ferrier, age 93, of Colfax, Louisiana, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at her residence in Colfax.

Mrs. Ferrier was born on Sunday, April 16, 1933, in Montgomery, Louisiana, to Henry Cox and Della Mae Paul Cox. She spent her life devoted to her family, her church, and her community, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hospitality, hard work, and unconditional love.

A lifelong member of the Montgomery Church of Christ, Mrs. Bonnie's Christian faith guided every aspect of her life. She was affectionately known by many names, including "Mrs. Bonnie," "Memaw," "Aunt Bonnie," "Bon Bon," and "Bossie Bonnie." Regardless of what you called her, one thing remained the same-she never met a stranger. Her home was always open, and her table always had room for one more. If visitors or newcomers attended church, they were likely to receive an invitation to Sunday dinner. She never worried whether there would be enough food because she simply believed there always would be.

Mrs. Ferrier was first and foremost a homemaker who poured her heart into raising her family. Along the way she also worked hauling pulpwood, selling insurance, and later selling Avon and Mary Kay. She was an exceptional cook, and if you stopped by for a visit, you could count on a hot cup of coffee and, more often than not, one of her famous leftover biscuits waiting for you.

She and her beloved husband, Warren, faithfully raised their six children in church. Their children fondly remember sitting on the front pew every Sunday. Mrs. Bonnie had a unique way of keeping them attentive-if they misbehaved, she would pull their hair just enough to "make it thunder." And when Mr. Warren was leading the singing, a quick tap of his knuckles on a child's head was sometimes all the correction that was needed. In true Mrs. Bonnie fashion, even children who weren't her own were subject to loving correction if they happened to be within arm's reach.

Mrs. Bonnie instilled lifelong values in her children. She taught her sons how to treat a lady with kindness and respect, how to work hard, and how to provide for their families. She taught her daughters the importance of cooking, caring for a home, and putting family first. Her example of faith, generosity, humility, and service touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found great joy in fishing, singing praises to the Lord in church, listening to country music, and spending time with the people she loved most. Her life was a beautiful testimony of Christian love, and she will be deeply missed by her family, her church family, and countless friends whose lives she enriched.

Mrs. Ferrier was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Cox and Della Mae Paul Cox; her beloved husband, Warren Ferrier; her daughters, Deanna Ferrier, Debbie Smith, and Theresa Ferrier; her grandchildren, Stacy Vollm, Angela Lang, and Jonathan Land; and her sisters, Billie Ray Bordelon, Audie Kieffer, Patricia Creamer, Maxine Jackson, and Eva Harris.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Clinton Ferrier and wife Patricia, Ronnie Ferrier and wife Carolyn, and Gene Ferrier and wife Barbara; her daughter, Susan Berry; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were blessed by her love and kindness.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shandon Ferrier, Ryan Ferrier, Rick Ferrier, Keith Berry, Josh Berry, and Caleb Berry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Lang, Timothy Vollm, Landon Duffel, and Scott Lambert.

The family will receive friends during visitation at Montgomery Church of Christ on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Montgomery Church of Christ on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Casey Clement and Warren Caleb Berry. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
