Bobby Ray Long, age 85 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Born Thursday, November 11, 1937 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Beatrice Lawrence Long and Wyatt Reginald Long; and sister, Shirley Rose Burnett.

Mr. Long served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and yard work. Mr. Long was a devoted Christian and deacon at The Family Church in Winnfield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Amanda Hagan Long; children, Judy Spurgeon, Alan Long, Richard Long (Janice), and Charles Long: grandchildren, Jonathan Spurgeon (Kaitlin McBroom), Joanna Spurgeon, Brian Long, Jessica Long, Curtis Long (Esther Montachez), Candice Brigalia (Jeremy), Michael Long, Matthew Long, and Amanda Long; great grandchildren, Catherine Spurgeon, Sophia Spurgeon, Lili LaBorde, Alex LaBorde, Josiah Brigalia, Jentzen Brigalia and Titus Long; and brother, Billy Long.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 20, 2023, at The Family Church, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at The Family Church, from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at The Family Church with Rev. H.W. Smith and Rev. Joel Hines officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Tabernacle Cemetery, near Winnfield, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Brian Long, Matthew Long, Jonathan Spurgeon, Curtis Long, Jeremy Brigalia, and Charles Long.
