Mr. Bobby D. Canerday, 84, of Calvin, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Pineville, Louisiana. He was born on February 5, 1940, in Winnfield, Louisiana, to the late William and Lillie Bagwell Canerday.

Mr. Canerday was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam era. He was a longtime member of Calvin First Baptist Church and was dedicated to his community, serving as an Alderman for the Village of Calvin.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Canerday enjoyed spending time outdoors. Above all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cherished the moments spent with them.

Mr. Canerday was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Moring Canerday; his parents, William and Lillie Canerday; and his brothers, W.C. Canerday, Sam Canerday, Herman Canerday, and Gerald Canerday.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Canerday (Michelle) and Bobby Joe Canerday (Beckie); his grandchildren, Ashley Wilson (Eric), Amber Babers (Cole), Coy Canerday, and Clay Canerday; and his great-grandchildren, Stetson Wilson, Blair Babers, and Waylon Babers.

Visitation will be held at Calvin First Baptist Church on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Calvin First Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Ver Hoef and Rev. Bobby Bates officiating. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calvin.
