Mr. Billy "Bill" Glenn Mayo, age 87, of Jena, Louisiana, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Willis Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Born on February 1, 1938, Billy was the son of the late John Thomas Mayo and Tommie McVay Mayo. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Smith Mayo and a devoted father, brother, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Robert Kevin Mayo and wife Christa; Bradley Glenn Mayo; Bryan Keith Mayo and wife Penny; and Stuart Dean Mayo. He is also survived by his brother, James Mayo and wife Rita, and his sister, Jo Mayo Nobles and husband Harlan; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Mr. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Smith Mayo; his parents; his sister, Ruby Wilkes Boothe; and his brothers: John Thomas Mayo, Jr., David Mayo, Rev. Everette "Shorty" Mayo, Adren "Blu" Mayo, and Homer Mayo.

Mr. Bill dedicated his career to the road construction industry all over the state of Louisiana. Known for his strong work ethic, he was respected for his commitment and skill. Outside work, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening- hobbies that brought him peace and connection with nature. More than anything, Billy treasured time spent with his grandchildren, who never failed to bring a sparkle to his eyes. Known for his generosity and kind heart, Billy never met a stranger and was always quick to lend a helping hand.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Pentecostal Church of Aimwell, located at 8152 Hwy. 26, Aimwell, Louisiana, with Rev. Kirk Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Jena, Louisiana.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Those honored to serve the family as pallbearers are Drew Mayo, Dustin Poole, Ryan Mayo, Josh Mayo, Tyler Mayo, Garrett Mayo, and Colton Mayo.
