Mr. Willard R. "Bill" Sanders age 80 of Ashland, Louisiana, passed away May 19, 2021 at Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital.

Mr. Sanders was a mechanic in the oil field for many years and retired from Western Gas.  He was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church of Ashland and enjoyed playing softball.

He was the son of the late Carson Sanders and the late Dorothy Gordy Sanders.  He was also preceded in death by his son Mike Sanders and brother Clyde Sanders.

Survivors include his special companion and caregiver Sheila Thompson, mother of his children Billie Jean Sanders, daughter Paula Sanders(Adam), grandchildren Brandon Smith (Lexie), Jessica Shultz (Donovan), Devon Sanders, and Jerade Sanders.   He also leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandchildren Brody, Addie, Asher, Carter, Cooper, Elliette, Michaela, Spencer, Bentlee, and Zalea, and brother Jerry Sanders (Christy),

Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday at Goldonna Cemetery with Reverend James Lovell officiating.  Friends may visit with the family at the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Donovan Shultz, Chris Giddens, Jerade Sanders, David Flack, and Matt Flack.  Jerry Sanders will be an honorary pallbearer.
