Betty Jean (McBride) Watts, 89, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025.

Betty retired from Stone Container in 1998, where she worked as a storeroom clerk. Known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit, she approached everything she did with pride and purpose. She had a deep love for animals and found joy in spending time outdoors, especially while tending to her yard.

A devoted sports fan, Betty rarely missed a Weston High School event, cheering on the teams with enthusiasm and pride. Her love for community was matched by her unwavering dedication to helping others whenever she could.

Betty was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Weston Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family deeply. Her greatest joy came from loving and caring for her own family. She adored her children and grandchildren unconditionally, and she shared an especially close and loving bond with her twin sister, Billie Jo Peters—a connection that remained strong throughout their lives. Betty's warmth, generosity, and steadfast spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Stephen W. Watts (Lisa), John W. Watts, Diana Watts Delaney (Mark), Sarah Watts Dark (Michael); daughter-in-law, Sheila Watts; grandchildren, Melissa Watts, Stephen Watts, Emily Smith, Rachel Waggoner, Sadie Flower, Will Watts, Mark Delaney, Hannah Greer, John Odenbaugh and Taylor Odenbaugh; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Etta Catherine Rushing; and twin sister, Billie Joe Peters (Billy Ray).

Betty was preceded in death by her father, William F. McBride; mother, Lena (Culpepper) McBride; husband, Joe Holsomback; son, David B. Watts; great-granddaughter, Amelia Rose Greer.

As per her wishes, Betty will be cremated and her ashes will be spread in Tennessee.  A memorial service has not been planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Weston Baptist Church Youth and Children's funds.
