Her love, devotion, and the memories she created with those around her will be cherished for generations to come.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Jeanne Brooks Jordan, 87, of the Hudson Community in Dodson, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Welcome Home Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Wesley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Betty passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Hand in Hand Hospice.
Betty was born on January 10, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana. A devoted homemaker and mother, she also served her community for many years as a rural mail carrier. Above all, Betty treasured her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and "Me-Mommy," and her family was the center of her life. Her love, devotion, and the memories she created with those around her will be cherished for generations to come.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70 years, Roy D. Jordan of Dodson; her children, Iris Lazarus of Jonesboro, Royce Jordan and wife, Connie, of Dodson, Jena Cook and husband, David, of Youngsville, and Ryan Jordan and wife, Tonya, of Dodson; her grandchildren, Seth Cox, Duane Jordan, Trevor Jordan, Daniel Cox, Justin Burnett, Mercedes Jordan, and Nathan Lazarus; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Cox, Duane Jordan, Trevor Jordan, Daniel Cox, Jason Jordan, and David Cook.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Welcome Home Baptist Church.
