Betty Sue Cannon Valentine, age 84 of Jena, Louisiana, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 2, 2025

Sue was born to the union of Louis Lee Joe Cannon and Florence Dottie King Cannon on Saturday, October 2, 1940, in Rayville, Louisiana. She retired from Pinecrest Training Center, where she was a Training Therapist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin A. Valentine, and her two brothers, John Lloyd Cannon and Jimmie Glenn Cannon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Rodney Scott Smith, four grandsons, seven great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens,                                                                            at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Jelks, Rev. Mickey Hudnall, and Rev. Steve Jensen officiating.

Following the service, Sue will be laid to rest in the Belah Cemetery, of the Belah Community, Trout, Louisiana, under the direction of Kinner and Stevens.

Those honored to serve Sue as pallbearers are Scott Smith, Jake Smith, Hunter Smith, Kenny Estabrook, Lucas Smith, and James Hardie.

The family would like to express their MANY THANKS to the Searcy Baptist Church for all the food and support, they also want to THANK the 911 Dispatchers and the Ambulance Attendants for their wonderful help and compassion during the last few weeks.
