Mrs. Betty Jo Bookout Vestal, age 88 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Mrs. Vestal was born November 24, 1934 and was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Myrtie LeMoine Bookout; husband, Bobby E. Vestal; daughter, Rhonda Gray; brother, Bobby Bookout.

Mrs. Vestal worked as a nurse in the medical field and also traveled with her husband working on the pipeline. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Tracy Fortner (Marty); grandchildren - Kenny Gray (Brooke) and Kasey Lawler (Brian); great-grandchildren, Khloe, Kaylee, Bentley, Riggin and Harper.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6th, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Max Rasbury officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery, in Joyce.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
