Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Scroggs, III, age 75 of Jena, Louisiana was received into Heaven on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

He was born to the union of Benjamin Franklin Scroggs, JR. and Author Dale (King) Scroggs, on Wednesday, October 15, 1947, in Houston, Texas. Ben was a veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at Belden Wire and Cable for numerous years. Ben also worked for the state of Louisiana Transportation/ Highway Department.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosalind Coots.

Those left to love and miss him are his wife of 51 yrs. Sandra Elaine (Raines) Scroggs of Jena, three children Benjamin Franklin Scroggs, IV & wife Farah of San Antonio, Texas, Misty Leigh (Scroggs) Antee & husband Westley of Ruston, and Blaine Adam Scroggs, also of San Antonio, Texas, two sisters Pamela Phillips & husband Joe, of Jena and Deborah Eager of Jackson, Mississippi, four grandsons Eli Scroggs, Zane Scroggs, Corbin Antee, and Wyatt Antee, one granddaughter Arabella Antee, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Bellevue Baptist Church, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at which time the Funeral Procession will depart for the Belah Cemetery, in the Belah Community of Trout, Louisiana.

Funeral Services will be held Graveside at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Belah Cemetery under the directions of Kinner & Stevens with the Honor Guard of Jena and Rev. Gary Norris officiating. Those honored to serve Ben and his family as pallbearers are Malcolm Strozier, Westley Antee, Lanny Poole, Mark Windham, Benjamin Scroggs, IV and Henry Poland.
