Mr. Barry Glen Zimmerman, lovingly known by many as "BZ", passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Winnfield, Louisiana on October 25, 2025. He was 69 years old.

Born in Winnfield, Barry lived a life defined by love, strength, and quiet resilience. In 1988, he suffered a life-changing accident that altered his path but never his spirit. Despite years of pain and hardship, Barry never lost his sense of humor, his stubborn determination, or the warmth that made everyone feel at home in his presence.

He was happiest in life's simple moments — watching it rain, mowing the grass, or picking up his grandkids from school, who lovingly called him Papaw B. His grandchildren could always count on him for a juice and brownie whenever he came by, or their favorite pack of candy. He loved deeply, worked hard, and gave selflessly — especially to the people he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eugene Zimmerman, his mother, Willie Jean Zimmerman and little brother, Rex Zimmerman. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Brooklyn Zimmerman (Luke) and Megan Potts (Kyle), his grandchildren, Mallory, Jackson, Kyleigh, Kreed, Karter and Kooper, big brother, Mike Zimmerman and a host of nieces & nephews.

To his family, he will always be Daddy, Papaw B, and BZ — a man whose love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home with Reverends Mark Green  and Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Community Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends may visit with the family at Southern Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Zimmerman, Josh Zimmerman, Colby Zimmerman, Robin Cummings, Jody James and Cody Cummings.
