Audie Marie
Hand Jordan
May 16, 1926 — Feb 13, 2025
Winnfield
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mrs. Audie "Marie" Hand Jordan, who entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born on Sunday, May 16, 1926, in Winnfield, Louisiana, Marie was a woman of quiet strength and boundless love. She was the cherished daughter of Charles Howard Hand, Sr., and Joyce Weems Hand, and the beloved wife of Olan Jordan, with whom she built a home filled with faith, kindness, and unwavering motherly love. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, beloved daughter Judy Atwell, four brothers, and two sisters.
A lifelong resident of Winn Parish and a graduate of Winnfield High School, Marie was a dedicated and faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she joyfully served, especially through her work with Vacation Bible School in her younger years. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she cared for others, embodying the scripture, "Serve one another humbly in love." – Galatians 5:13
Marie had a gift for nurturing—whether it was tending to the vibrant flowers in her garden, preparing meals that became cherished family traditions, or showering her loved ones with warmth and affection. She was renowned for her delicious dressing and banana pudding, but even more so for the love that flavored everything she did. For her grandchildren, affectionately known as Mamaw, and to her great-grandchildren as Mamaw Great, she was a source of endless delight—always ready with a batch of popcorn, warm brownies, and the comfort of her gentle presence.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, cherished by those who survive her: her daughter Sharon Bailey (Shafton); grandchildren Stephanie Perkins (Fred), Keith Bailey (Kacey), Lorna Drach (Jeremy), Aubrey Bailey, and Lindsey Prince (Chad); nine precious great-grandchildren; siblings Eugene Hand and Jeannie Faye Maloy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Evans and Rev. Dick Enterkin officiating. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Winnfield.
The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Though our hearts grieve her passing, we rejoice in the promise of Christ, knowing that her faith has now become sight. "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
