Audie James Crochet

Listen to Obituary

Audie loved Jesus with every fiber of his being and never passed up an opportunity to share the love of Jesus and plan of salvation with anyone who would open the door to hear him.

Audie was a devoted pastor, Chaplain for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, former real estate agent, charter boat captain, and Supply Boat Captain. Audie loved Jesus with every fiber of his being and never passed up an opportunity to share the love of Jesus and plan of salvation with anyone who would open the door to hear him.

Pastor Crochet never met a stranger and quickly and easily made friends. It was almost impossible not to love and respect Audie. For 37½ years he shepherded the same congregation and was very faithful. He never missed church unless he was too sick to attend. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and eating out. He was an excellent cook and has a Redfish Court Bouillon recipe published in the cookbook for the LSU Rural Life Museum and Cajun Town. When Audie cooked he made enough for the entire neighborhood.

Audie was also a flag-loving, gun-packing, American patriot. His father was Gerald John Crochet and his mother was Mary Lee Granier Crochet. Both preceded him in death.

Audie is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rebecca Sue Fogger Crochet; his son, John James Crochet, and wife Brittany Brunet Crochet.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Cherie Jones, husband Doyle Jones; brother-in-law Mark Fogger, wife Tammy Fogger; and brother-in-law Timothy Fogger, wife Gwen. Plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
