Mr. David Wessley Steele, age 78 of Ferriday, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

Born Sunday, November 19, 1933 in Monterey, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his Father, Jared Steele and Mother, Clara Steele.

Mr. Steele was a Master Mason and member of the Georgetown Lodge # 298 F.A.&M. He was a member of Evangeline Temple Assembly of God in Ridgecrest, LA. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife, Dorasteen Steele, Son, David Steele of Morse, LA, Son, David Wessley Steele and wife Patricia of Mermentau Cove, LA, Daughter, Delores Steele Wynn and husband John Paul of Belle Vista, AR, Daughter, Linda Steele Frasier and husband Bill of Minden, LA, Son, Channing W. Steele of Atlanta, GA, Grandson, Chad Steele, Granddaughter, Jennifer Frasier Pierce and husband Mark, Grandson, John Troyce Wynn and wife Aimee, Granddaughter, Laura Wynn, Granddaughter, Cheryl Steele Faulk and husband Chester, Granddaughter, Sarah Wynn Rudsell and husband Victor, Grandson, Codie Steele and fiance Meagan Miller, Great Grandchildren, Austin Clouston, Ashley Clouston, Grady William Faulk, Emmalie Faulk, Nicholas Wynn, Gavin Rudsell, and Noah Rudsell, and Brother, Dannie R. Steele, Crowley, LA

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM , and again on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Southern Funeral Home, from 8:30 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Y Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Jordan Hill Cemetery, in Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Troyce Wynn, Codie Steele, Chad Steele, Chester Faulk, Earnie Forman, and Mark Pierce.
